Join us in standing up for reproductive health and education. Planned Parenthood, the organization that delivers reproductive health care, sex education and information to millions of people worldwide, has come under fire in the U.S. lately, with many politicians on both state and federal level seeking to end funding (and in a few cases succeeding).

During the month of May, you can send a specially designed Planned Parenthood vgift to your friends to help support this cause. (And if you need someone to send it to, frank is always happy to receive gifts!) There are three variations ($1, $5 and $10) for you to choose from, but they'd all look good on your profile when your friends know that you stand by something so important.

Thank you all for your help in our support for Planned Parenthood. This promotion ends June 1, 2012; LiveJournal is not affiliated with Parent Parenthood. For more information about Planned Parenthood, please visit: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

New ship-- yes this warrants a post

I ship Loki/Tony so hard it's not even funny, and I have yet to watch Avengers. Ugh May 4th why are you still so far away??

Seriously though, could two people (if you could call Loki such) be more perfect for each other? I initially thought I'd ship Steve/Tony after watching the Avengers (and they are pretty much canon in the comics so really every argument is invalid) but apparently not.

This is also the first time in a long time since I shipped a rare!pair, the last being Nate/Elliot from Leverage. With Steve/Tony and Thor/Loki being the prominent ships, every fic/fanart I come across is like a rare gem. The amazing thing is, what I've found so far are high in quality, which makes me insanely happy.

I don't know why this is worth doing a post about, but there it is.

Oh and obviously I can't wait to see Tom Hiddleston as Loki again. Pretty much fell in love with him in Thor and been in love since.
[Animation] OMG FAN.

Movies watched in 2011

Gonna spice it up a bit this year:

Bolded
movies are the ones I saw at the cinemas (which means I probably have high expectations for it)
Italicized movies are ones I will definitely watch again
Bolded AND italicized movies are the combo of the first two (really effing good movie, in that sense)
Blame the fact that The King's Speech happens to be my first film of the year. So far no movie can live up to it, yet. I may be wrong.

★ = Downright horrendous
★ = Ugh
★ =  Meh
★ = Okay if you're bored with nothing else to do
★ = Pretty good
★ = Loved it
★ = Perfect in every sense ♥

Some good news

• I got another job! I finally don't have to worry that my bookstore job won't be enough to pay my bills. Training starts next Tuesday :D

• In celebration of getting a second job, I got myself a fancy smartphone. I'm usually content with my iPod Touch and my normal phone, but my iPod isn't really good for checking mail or tumblr quickly during break, and my phone is just.... well a basic texting phone. Honestly though, I couldn't pass up the chance of getting a smartphone for only $25. Since I've always wanted one, I might as well give it a try. Can't wait for it to arrive on Tuesday~

• SO MANY AMAZING TV SHOWS THIS SEASON OMGOMG. Parks and Rec, The Good Wife, Community, Modern Family etc. I'm so happy the fall TV season is back. I find it really relaxing to come home to a bunch of shows waiting for me to get to them after a long day. Going to work is different than going to school. I seriously don't find school as rewarding as work.

• In Adele news: the official music video for Someone Like You came out earlier today. It was filmed very poorly, I have to admit. I was expecting plot since the song tells a pretty heartbreaking story but we didn't get any of that. The whole thing consists of pointless spinning that made me really dizzy and Adele looking like she's either about to laugh or punch the camera (mostly this) LOLOL. I mean yes I'm quite happy I get to stare at Adele walking around Paris while being gorgeous for five minutes but damn, the director really didn't put any effort into it. The single being out for more than half a year in the UK and approx. three months here only makes the video look even lower in quality. But oh well, Adele's done the song justice through her BRIT Awards as well as various brilliant live performances. I don't see why they didn't just stick to the one of her singing the song live at her home though, that one was absolutely breathtaking.

• So now that SLY is done give me the music videos to Set Fire to the Rain and Rumor Has it and Take it All and He Won't Go and Turning Tables plz kthxbye

Someone please explain to me

How can you live your life like that? Giving up amazing opportunities that present themselves to you? Relying in your parents to pay for the "fun" you want in your life and not going out there to, oh I don't know, earn it yourself?

How is it there are people out there that live with this mentality, while others who try so hard to score a job get nothing?

I'm not sure if this is healthy behavior tbh

I'm so excited about Adele's concert it's not even funny anymore. I've pretty much reached the ultimate status of fangirl-ism that I think I just might lose it and burst into tears when I see her come onto the stage (heck I feel like crying just from watching the clips of other concerts on youtube). I have never wanted to cry over an artist, ever. I think I kind of get how some fans feel now.

I was actually somewhat relieved and, dare I say, happy when Adele announced that she had to cancel due to illness. I had discovered her really late and before I knew it, my wanting to see her live became something I yearned for, but tickets had long been sold out back in March. I was a bit angry with myself for not liking her earlier, but hey, the opportunity presented itself again and I'm not going to miss it this time around. Believe it or not, I actually didn't like her much when I first heard Chasing Pavements two years ago. My, how I've changed.
Anyway, Adele is actually going to be the very first official concert I've ever been to! I'm glad she'll be my first concert experience <3 I'm a little sad that I have to go alone, but my friends either have to work or they don't like her as much as I do. I don't really mind going alone though, at least I can enjoy myself and have fun, plus I won't get teased relentlessly when I come out of the concert sobbing like something died lol. Still, it does suck to travel to another city alone.

In other news, I got a job! I'm pretty happy that I was able to score a job not too long after graduating, considering the economical status right now. It's a part time job at my university bookstore but I gotta start somewhere, right? Hopefully either a full time or another part time job will come along soon, because I cannot pay my bills with just that one job.

Well that was underwhelming

Tin Man sucks. Total waste of four and a half hours.

Explain to me why people were hyped up over this mini-series again? It's so shitty. Alice was utter shit too.
The CGI was an complete eye sore, so was the acting (besides Alan Cumming UNFFFFFF), not to mention the storyline being a disaster. I mean I get it, some shows are just able to be the king of campiness and still have people who love it (see: V, which I LOVEEEE) but Tin Man definitely is not one of those shows.

Goddamn it, WHY ARE ALL THE GOOD SHOWS (The Good Wife, TVD, Sherlock) SO FAR AWAY/ON HIATUS?

In other news, The Crimson Petal and the White is amazing. HI GATISS, I LIKED YOU HALF NAKED 8D

Well, isn't this great?

I used to write like this.

And back then people have told me that they found it too tedious to read, that I was being too cryptic and I'm not narrating enough.
"It's so poetic, I don't get it."

I used to think I was a decent writer, and from what I knew back then I really was. But people kept on telling me how much I sucked and how they hated my writing. So I stopped. I stopped and now I can't go back. The things I post now are monotonous, boring beyond belief, and I don't know how I can go back to writing like I did before.

This sucks. My writing sucks.
